💜Covid happened……💜
Let me start by saying what a week it has been, It was heart breaking to have to close the doors to the salon, but I knew it was the right thing to do. We work far too close to people and to keep the 2 meter distant and It would have been impossible for us to keep trading and protect all our staff and clients at the same time. I want to thank all of you that have given your support, lovely phone calls, emails, messages and we even got sent some flowers from one of our amazing clients, even tho you all have stuff going on you made time for us and it’s not forgotten.
So was I worried about the salon closing?? yes, I now find myself in new waters, since I was 15yrs old I have always worked and never had any time off, So not getting up at 7am every morning does feel very strange. I have spent all my days trying to sort out all my finances, on hold for up to 8hrs only to get cut off, I have been in a queue and number 141721 for my appointment and it came free at 1.45am and I had fallen asleep so had to start the whole process all again, as I type this I’m currently in another queue! This is not a pity party by any means I know there are millions of people sat doing the same thing as me. It has honestly been more stressful this last few days than having my salon for the last 15yrs who would of though that!!
Anyway anyone that knows me knows I’m like a whirlwind and a very positive person, and I always have a project on the go, so you’ll be pleased to know I am currently putting up a new fence in the garden! The sun has got his hat on and kiss FM is blasting out the tunes and gin is going down a treat as I’ve now forgotten what day it even is! They all blend in to one when you’re not at work don’t they!
After the sun goes in all I seem to do each day is wait for 5pm for Boris to come on in the hope of him bringing us some good news! I feel like we are in some sort of movie and a good guy like Bruce Willis is going to save the world by getting the bad guys and find an antidote to kill this horrible virus that’s sweeping the world. I watched the news last night and I saw that Spain is having to use an ice rink as a morgue , that was so sad it really upset me, then today on Facebook I watched a video of a guy showing the excel centre in London which they are making 4000 hospital beds and a morgue for. I have been to the Excel many times before for beauty trade shows and let me tell you it is a massive building. This really hit home just how horrific this virus really is. I’ve also seen videos of people licking subway handles, packets of food in supermarkets and all sharing the same lollypop, thinking its really cool to do this and that they think the virus won’t touch them or its some kind of joke……. You’re the only one that’s a joke if you choose to do this, and they won’t find it funny if a loved one fell ill
So what positive things are happening? Well I have volunteered for the NHS and I was so pleased to read on the news that over 500,000 people have done this, I actually filled up with tears in my eyes, we really do live in Great Britain and I am so proud to be able to play my small part in it . We are working on a new thermal detox Nimue facial and will be using our time in isolation to do the training for that, also a lot of updates to our Instagram, Facebook and website will be going on while we have the time on our hands!!
I put a status up online the other day saying we know that a lot of clients do live on their own and while they don’t need any help I know it can be very lonely so I repeat this again, we are here for you!!! If you are lonely, depressed, bored or just want a chat and a catch up please feel free to give us a call, we will call you back as soon as we can! Our number is 357572, please call anytime and I mean that.
Finally I wanted to say I hope you and your family are all safe and well I am really looking forward to bringing you all the brilliant things we will be working on over the new few weeks while the salon is closed
See you on the other side……..
Love Louise x💜
